The launch of the Fenn Foundation enables us to harness the energy, talent and enthusiasm of our people and our customers to make a meaningful positive impact on our wider community, the environment and charitable causes.
We believe business should be good business, and we aim to work with businesses who share these values.
When you choose Fenn 1875 as your primary purchasing partner we make this promise to you; that we will take every care to ensure our operations deliver commercial, social and environmental benefits to you and your business.
We empower our customers to make a positive impact because we are a business created with a social purpose, which means our profits are reinvested back into the business, the environment and our community. The more business we generate the greater the opportunity for us to give back and the more the Fenn Foundation can grow.
The Fenn Foundation aims to support social mobility, through supporting disadvantaged young people and the homeless in a wide variety of ways. As proud Platinum Members of the Aspire Program and supporters of many local charities, we provide increased learning opportunities to support them into employment, our Fenn 1875 apprenticeship programme, supplying everyday essentials, donating surplus stock to local schools and charities and providing volunteer support from our staff. Fenn 1875 managing director, Louise Harris, continues to support and speak at Women’s Business Enterprise events, with the aim of encouraging, mentoring and inspiring more women to develop their own business.
On a global scale, the Fenn Foundation supports charity WaterAid in its work to provide clean water for the wellbeing of children and families in the developing world. Water is a precious resource which allows communities to thrive, and through our Fenn 1875 packaging recycling programme alone we saved 2,870,391 litres of water!
Ensuring we are environmentally conscious in all that we do, we take a strategic approach to environmental management and as an accredited ISO 14001 company we are committed to protecting it as much as we can. We actively pursue a programme of targets and objectives to reduce our own carbon footprint and as part of that commitment the Fenn Foundation supports the Woodland Trust in the wellbeing of our UK natural flora and fauna through carbon capture products and initiatives.
These include our tree planting scheme which includes involvement from disadvantaged young people, representation at the Supplier Sustainability Forum and the pioneering Stoke-on-Trent District Heat Network project and hosting the Fenn 1875 Environmental Expo with renowned environmentalist Dr David Bellamy.
